Gibson’s Bakery v. Oberlin College: Identity Politics on Trial

From the James Wilson Institute (JWI) website:

The James Wilson Institute hosted Prof. William Jacobson [on November 1] for a public lecture on campus identity politics, college administrators, and a family bakery caught in the crosshairs. Prof. Jacobson chronicled the ongoing legal battle Gibson’s Bakery has fought against Oberlin College at Legal Insurrection, an influential website he founded and where [he] publishes on topics concerning law and politics. In his lecture, Prof. Jacobson discussed the background to the case, the trial, the victory for Gibson’s, and what the case portends for the future of identity politics on campuses across the country.

The JWI describes its mission as follows:

The James Wilson Institute’s Mission is to restore to a new generation of lawyers, judges, and citizens the understanding of the American Founders about the first principles of our law and the moral grounds of their own rights.
