C.J. Seitz Confirmed to Serve on Delaware Supreme Court

Collins J. Seitz, Jr., formerly colleague and mentor to Business Law Basics co-authors Sam Brickley and Brian Gottesman, has been unanimously confirmed by the Delaware Senate to serve on the Delaware Supreme Court.

Seitz, a former partner at the Delaware law firms of Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz LLP and Seitz Ross Aronstam & Moritz LLP, will replace Justice Henry duPont Ridgely, who retired on January 31, 2015. He has litigated innumerable high-profile cases in the Delaware Court of Chancery, as well as several federal jurisdictions, including In re Kinder Morgan, Inc. Corporate Reorganization Litigation, Consol. C.A. No. 10093-VCL (Del. Ch. 2014); Activision Blizzard, Inc., et al. v. Hayes, No. 497, 2014 (Del. 2014); Rohm & Haas Co. v. Dow Chemical Co., C.A. No. 4309-CC (Del. Ch. 2009); United Rentals, Inc. v. RAM Holdings, Inc., C.A. No. 3360-CC (Del. Ch. 2007) and Pfizer Inc v. Ranbaxy Labs. Ltd. (Fed. Cir. 2006). Seitz also has served as Special Master in a number of important Chancery proceedings, including In re:  DaimlerChrysler AG Securities Litigation, C.A. 00-993/00-984/01-004 JJF (D. Del.).
