Brian Gottesman Co-Presents "Business Divorce 101"

Berger Harris partner and Business Law Basics co-author Brian Gottesman co-presented a continuing legal education seminar entitled "Business Divorce 101" today at the Delaware State Bar Association office in Wilmington, Delaware. Brian's segment, "Means of Effectuating a Split," was co-presented with the Honorable J. Travis Laster, Vice-Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery, and Kevin R. Shannon of the law firm of Potter Anderson & Corroon.

From the program description:

Sometimes, your client’s best-laid business plans go astray. This seminar will help you learn the necessary steps to help effectuate a business divorce, whether it is through dissolution of a corporation or another entity, a squeeze-out merger, a reverse stock split or litigation. You will be instructed on how to take control of assets and operations and how to sell the entity, and will learn how to prove and defend damage claims related to business divorce.

Other presenters of the seminar, which was moderated by Kurt Heyman (Heyman Enerio Gattuso & Hirzel LLP), included Peter B. Ladig (Morris James LLP), Kathaleen St. Jude McCormick (Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP), Melissa N. Donimirski (Heyman Enerio Gattuso & Hirzel LLP), Brett Margolin (BLDS, LLC), and Jaime d’Almeida (Duff & Phelps, LLC).

Along with a number of other attorneys (including many of the presenters), Brian is the co-author of Litigating the Business Divorce (BNA, 2016).
